SP2001F Fire Coating

SP2001F Fire Coating is a ceramic-based, intumiscent, water-borne, fireproofing coating, that will give a 1 or 2 hour fire rating, depending on the thickness applied.

Uses

Tested for use directly on structural steel to give a one or two hour fire rating, depending on thickness applied.

Application

Although SP2001F Fire Coating can be applied by non-professionals, Superior Products Europe recommends using a certified applicator. Contact Superior Products Europe for details.

Preparation:

  • Surface must be clean and completely dry, with no loose debris or particles, rust, dirt, oil, films or residues of any kind. SP2001F Fire Coating will cover previous coatings if they are fully adhered to the surface.
  • Mechanically stir, as ceramics will tend to settle.

Application methods:

  • Airless sprayed: tip size 1.65mm; build to desired thickness.
  • Brush if necessary

Applied rate:

1 hour fire rating - 0.12m2/liter
2 hour fire rating - 0.073m2/liter

Film thickness:

1 hour fire rating - Wet: 7.62mm    Dry: 6.35mm
2 hour fire rating - Wet: 12.7mm    Dry: 10.16mm

Dry times:

8 hour to touch.
12 hours to overcoat.

Full cure:

21 days.

Limitations

  • Not suitable for underwater use of any kind.
  • Do not use as floor coating.
  • Do not used directly on food preparation surfaces.
  • Not to be used as an insulating material.
  • SP2001F Fire Coating is grey in colour and rough in texture.
