Strainer at chemical factory was insulated with traditional insulation up to the strainer valves, flanges, and couplings which could not be effectively insulated. Although the straight runs were protected, an enormous amount of energy was being lost at the uninsulated valves, flanges, and couplings.
HOT PIPE COATING was applied directly to all of the irregular surfaces and fittings without any pretreatment or the need to shut the system down during the application.
HOT PIPE COATING coated strainer realized an instant reduction in surface temperature of 125°C realizing a 74% increase in efficiency and retained usable heat.
