Project Description
Treatment of metal slabs in EX-zone production department. Due to high acid levels in aggressive environment the metal was rapidly deteriorating. Welding was not possible due to explosion hazard.
In the floor plates different holes were present due to extensive corrosion.
Coating Solution
Treatment consisted of manually removing loose pieces of rust. Next step was to apply 2 layers of RUST GRIP with a roller. After drying, by while RUST GRIP is still wet, 2 layers of ENAMO GRIP were applied.
Results
It has been confirmed that this was the only long term solution that proved to be sustainable, however, since the completion of the project there has been an internal decision to use stainless steel plates in the future.
